Let's be honest; if you are reading this, we know you love great food and drink just as much as we do.  While our dazzling selection of local products, sexy charcuterie and enticing cheese often steal the show, we've got a a pretty sweet selection of adult beverages in the cellar too. So, we've come up with a way for you and the Cellar to get to know each other a little better:  Goose the Market Wine of the Month Club.  For those forward-thinking, astute individuals who elect to join the club, we'll choose two wines and a surprise beverage monthly.  The smart set that joins will be receiving these treats at a discounted rate.  You can choose from different levels and different combinations.  It also makes a great gift for the holidays.

Flocktoberfest
headerWith the cooler temperatures and falling leaves we welcome everyone back to the reality of Indiana.  We are ready.  Bring on the fall pleasures of apples, pumpkins, squash, beer and more bier, sausage, bon fires and a fall afternoon hike with a packed picnic from the Goose.

Here is what you will find in the coming weeks at the Goose....while supplies last.

We are now accepting orders for Thanksgiving Turkeys- see below for more details

Beer and more Bier- currently available
Skilled brewers rejuvenated by the onset of October means they have released the flood gates and are starting to show off a bit.  Brewers awake from their summer nap to kick off the season with a little show and tell.  Here is what you can expect to find in the cellar:
Blocktoberfest- Atwater Brewing
October Fest-Marzen- Ayinger
Freaktoberfest- Coney Island
Munsterfest- Three Floyd's
Punkin Head- Dogfish
Octoberfest Marzen- Left Hand
Pecan Harvest Ale- Abita
Fest Bier- Weinstaphaner
Octoberfest Weizen- Erdinger
Satan Gold Belgian Ale- Brewery de Block
    Gorch Foch- Three Floyd's

Coppa di Testa- coming soon
It is nothing to fear.  It is not a science project.  This is a long standing fall tradition for many parts of the world.  Sometimes referred to as head cheese, Souse, Presskopf or Sult.  We put our twist on it with apple cider, apples, onions, celery and beer of course.  Look for this the second week of October.

Pear and Pecan Stuffed Pork Chops-currently available
We are filling a double cut bone in Gunthorp Farms pork chop with a stuffing made with Indiana pears, pecans, bacon, cider and rosemary.  They can be grilled, broiled or baked.  We recommend glazing them with a reduction of apple cider, Hickoryworks Shagbark Syrup and a touch of crushed red pepper.... out the door.

Bravarian Bratwurst- currently available
One of our sandwiches that we will be featuring this month is a Bravarian Bratwurst served with what else besides kraut and whole grain mustard.  Stein not included.

Pumpkins, Apples, Pears and Cider
In addition to the meats and beers we should probably highlight some of the other splendors of fall.  We will have your carving pumpkins, edible pumpkins and winter squash straight from Good Life Farms.  We will also be supplied with a variety of apples, pears and cider from Anderson Orchard.

Welcome Back Market Soup- currently available
Our daily soup selection has returned to the line up.  As always, it changes often and is based on only what is in season.  No soup for you.

Let the Goose give you the bird
blog

Nothing is better than that one day a year when you find yourself at 4:30 in the morning stuffing vegetation up the rear end of a turkey.  Well, it is quickly approaching and we are now accepting pre orders for your free-range Indiana turkeys raised by Gunthorp Farms. These all natural birds are raised with the love and care that all of our other meats from Gunthorp receive.  All orders can be placed by clicking the link above or through our website at www.goosethemarket.com

It's your turn.  You buy it, you cook it, you shoot it and you hang it up on the refrigerator door for everyone to see.

Thank you for hanging on to the end.  You may now return to your previously scheduled day.

Sincerely,

Christopher Eley
